ROGERSVILLE — Winter weather might paralyze the region Saturday night, but hopefully that won't affect Christmas events scheduled Saturday in Hawkins County including two parades and a Christmas market at the Rogersville American Legion.

Beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, the Rogersville American Legion building on E. Main Street will host a fundraiser for Cub Scout Pack 100.

"Market 100" will feature crafts, vendors and a silent auction, with proceeds from the vendor fees and a silent auction benefiting Rogersville's Cub Scout Pack 100 and Boy Scout Pack 199.

Scoutmaster Amanda Burton said there will be 15 vendors selling original handmade crafts, jewelry, personalized T-shirts, Avon, gifts and flags, crocheted items and more.

The Boy Scouts will be selling hand-made Charlie Brown-style Christmas Trees with one lone ornament, and will also be gift wrapping.

As for the silent auction, Burton said nearly every business in Rogersville contributed an item.

"I've got clothes, tools, gift certificates to restaurants — just a wide variety of items," Burton said. "At last count we had between 35 and 40 items for the silent auction.

Bids for silent auction items will be taken all day, and the high bids will be announced at 3 p.m.

Market 100 ends at 4 p.m.
