This weekend in downtown Kingsport: Enjoy a dance production, interact with farmers, build a picture frame

KINGSPORT — There is a lot to do downtown this weekend, from live music to a Community Supported Agriculture fair. Here are some suggestions for your weekend from the Downtown Kingsport Association.

FRIDAY

High Voltage and King’s Sport Axe House

The indoor room at High Voltage is closed for a private party, but Axe House customers will still be served.

What: Axes will fly at the King’s Sport Axe House. Book your lanes ahead of time at KingsSportAxeHouse.com.

When: 5-11p.m.

Where: 101 Cherokee St., Suites 20 & 30

Lamplight Theatre

What: “Le Cadre” — an enchanting parable told entirely through different styles of dance.

Where: 140 Broad St.

When: Feb. 28, 7-8:30 p.m.; Feb. 29, 2-3:30 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m.; March 1, 3-4:30 p.m.

SATURDAY

Kingsport Farmers Market

What: Regional Community Supported Agriculture Fair. Every year a series of CSA Fairs is hosted to allow members of the community to connect with farmers in our region offering CSAs.

The fairs allow community members to talk with the farmers, peruse the many offerings, and establish a closer relationship with our local food sources.

Where: 308 Clinchfield St.

When: 10 a.m.

Bays Mountain Brewing Company

What: Paint Pour

Not only do you get to paint a lovely cheeseboard, glasses or coasters, but you will also get a glass of beer or cider (must be 21 or over to be served). Don’t drink? No problem. Cream soda will be on tap. You can choose from glasses, cheeseboard or both. Cheeseboards are limited and require a nonrefundable deposit of $10. Two glasses are $25 (can choose between wine glasses or beer mugs). You can mix and match. Two glasses and cheeseboard are $45. Cheeseboard is only $30.

The Inventor Center

What: Build a Frame. Learn how to build a wooden picture frame. In this two-hour class, you will learn some basic woodworking skills and create your own picture frame. All materials are covered in the purchase of a ticket. $25 per person.
