Carter Metz scored 11 points, Breiydon Gilliam 10 and Jason Sattler nine for the Chiefs, who proved too much for the Warriors to handle.
Cherokee (7-10) and Happy Valley (4-10) traded baskets until the Chiefs pulled off a 7-0 run for a 12-6 advantage in the first quarter.
The Warriors closed the gap to two before entering the second quarter trailing 12-10.
A quick 8-0 run put the Chiefs out front 20-10 to start the second quarter. Another run, this time 10-3, put them up 33-18 at halftime.
“Cherokee did a great job keeping us off balance the whole way and it was tough to score on,” Happy Valley coach Jeremy Maddox said.
Happy Valley struggled to find a shot against Cherokee’s defense, leading to a 49-28 deficit.
Dylan Willis led the Warriors with 11 points. Alex Lunceford was next with five.
SULLIVAN NORTH 58, UNAKA 52
KINGSPORT — Christian Hill produced an 18-point effort and the Golden Raiders held off the Rangers in Watauga Valley Conference action.
Isaiah Pruitt added 15 points to the cause and Bryant Herron tallied 11 points.
Ryan Johnson hit six shots behind the 3-point arc to score a game-high 20 points for Unaka. Will Sexton had 13 points and Josh Slagle totaled 10 points.
TENNESSEE HIGH 84, VOLUNTEER 66
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Mchale Bright went off with a 47-point performance to propel the Vikings to the win over the Falcons. Bright hit 18 shots from the field, four from 3-point range, and was 7-for-8 on free throws.
Nolan Wishon posted 24 more points for Tennessee High.
Eli Amyx scored 15 points to lead Volunteer. Bradin Minton totaled 12 points, Garrison Barrett had 10 and Brody Henley added eight.

JONESBOROUGH — The Hilltoppers put together another standout defensive performance, holding the Pioneers to 20 points in the first half.
Four players ended in double figures for Science Hill. Jordan McLoyd and Keynan Cutlip each scored 14 points, while Griffin Ballard and Hunter Phillips had 10 points apiece.
Donta Hackler was Crockett’s high scorer with 12 points and Mack Hensley came through with 10.

KNOXVILLE — The Eagles (10-4) landed in the win column after rolling out to a 33-10 halftime lead.

GATE CITY — Bradley Dean was a man on a mission — again — scoring more than half of the Blue Devils’ points to help them subdue the visiting Wolfpack in Mountain 7 play.
Dean finished with 33 points.
Gabe Brown was the leading scorer for the Wolfpack with 24 points, and Austin Mullins finished with 11.

BEN HUR — The Generals rolled past John Battle at home in Mountain 7 play.
Lee High (10-2, 2-1) led 25-17 at halftime before outscoring the Trojans 17-5 in the third quarter to put the game away.

CASTLEWOOD — The Eagles took down the Blue Devils in a tight Cumberland District battle.
Rye Cove led 19-17 at halftime, and it stayed close the rest of the way. With the victory, Rye Cove improved to 6-6 overall and 1-1 in district play.

EWING — Brad Owens netted 25 points and the Titans went on the road to dismantle the Pioneers in a Cumberland District tilt. Connor Lane was right behind Owens with 24 points.

NORTON — The Spartans (4-6, 2-0) escaped J.I. Burton with a narrow victory in a Cumberland District battle.
Trevor Culbertson led the way for the Raiders (8-4, 1-1) with 24 points.

BRISTOL, Tenn. — The Lady Falcons stymied the Lady Vikings in the first half, holding them to just eight points.
Aliyah Crawley led Volunteer on the offensive end with 13 points and Atlee Dean converted on 10 of 14 free-throw attempts to score 12 points.
Riley Fritts paced Tennessee High with 14 points.

KINGSPORT — Freshman Lyndie Ramsey continues to pace the Lady Rangers, coming up with a 16-point performance in the win over the Lady Golden Raiders.
Maci Ensor added nine points as Unaka raced to a 34-14 halftime lead.
Lilly Crawford had 13 points and Maddy Winters ended with eight to lead Sullivan North.

ELIZABETHTON — Shaylin Whitson scored a game-high 14 points to lead the Lady Warriors to the nonconference win.
The Lady Chiefs hit only one field goal in the third quarter. They got more of their points from the free-throw line, where they went 3-for-10.

JONESBOROUGH — Alasia Smith had two steals and a blocked shot in the final minute of the second overtime to preserve the win for the Lady ’Toppers.
She scored 20 points. Nae Marion finished with 16, and Kat Patton and Erin Egerbrecht had eight apiece.
Emma Gouge netted a game-high 28 points for Crockett. Halle Scott totaled 11, Alyssa Suits had 10 and Mackenzie Baldwin finished with eight.

ERWIN — Morgan Headrick hit a game-winning shot as time expired to lift the Lady Cyclones.
