This year’s festival features new events and activities. Event coordinators are anticipating a larger than usual turnout.
In addition to the Flea Market and Crafts portion of the festival, this year’s event will also include an antique car show, bouncies and inflatables for children and more food vendors than present in past years. Live music will be provided by The Band Shooter, along with Blountville’s own Nomadz and other local musicians. The “Kingsport Scorchers” will be on hand with antique bicycles from the 1890-1930 era with riders in period clothing. A Silent Auction will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and one of the baskets includes five free Disney tickets for the winning bidder.
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Flea Market; inflatables and bouncies; The “Kingsport Scorchers.”
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. — antique car show (sponsored by Central Heights PTA).
9am to 12pm Music by Historic Blountville’s own Nomadz
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Silent Auction.
Noon to 3 p.m. — The Band Shooter.
Food vendors will offer a wide array of food with everything from barbeque ribs, barbeque chicken, pulled pork, deep fried oreos and moon pies, hot dogs, hamburgers, pork skins, snow cones, kettle corn, chili cheese fries and more. In addition, the Blountville Ruritan will be serving soup beans and cornbread.
The 11th Annual Historic Blountville Heritage Festival is sponsored by the Sullivan County Department of Archives and Tourism, with the Car Show and Silent Auction sponsored by Central Heights Elementary School.
