KINGSPORT — Feeling sluggish after a full day of feasting on turkey? Need a post-Thanksgiving pick-me-up that doesn’t involve hours of walking through retail stores among hundreds of holiday shoppers?

Then the Kingsport Aquatic Center might just have an activity that’s right up your alley. The facility is hosting its second annual “Tread Away Turkey” Day — an ideal way to ease back into an active lifestyle post-holiday feasting.

Come out at 11 a.m. on Friday and join a water aerobics class in the toasty warm water pool.

You’ll be able to enjoy about 30 minutes of low-intensity treading water activities designed to get you moving and back on track for the rest of the holiday season.

Upbeat music and an enthusiastic instructor guarantee that “Tread Away Turkey” Day will beat your regular early morning jog any day of the week.

Tickets are $2 and can be purchased at the aquatic center’s main desk on the day of the class, like any other regularly scheduled class. All ages and abilities are welcome.
