Update: Body found in Bristol identified

UPDATE: The deceased male located in the woods on Jan. 4 was identified as Terry E. McMurray, 26, from Bristol, Tennessee, according to a news release from the Bristol Tennessee Police Department.
The investigation is still ongoing and detectives have not found any evidence of criminal activity surrounding McMurray’s death at this time. Anyone with information they believe may assist in the investigation is asked to contact Detective Chris Odle at (423) 989-5530 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Authorities are asking for the public’s help as they investigate the case of a body discovered Saturday afternoon.
According to a news release from the Bristol Tennessee Police Department, at approximately 1 p.m. the BTPD received a call from a person walking in the area reporting a possible dead body in the woods between Shankle Mill Road and Grove Park Drive. The first responding officers located the body of what appears to be a white male.
At this time, there is no evidence of criminal activity, the release said.
The Sullivan County coroner collected the body, which will be transported to Forensic Pathology at ETSU for autopsy. Information regarding the victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
