Jayne, who has a 4.0 GPA, was a three-year starter on varsity for the Lady Rebels and a two-time all-district selection. She went to state each year of her high school career.
Jayne took her game to another level her senior season. The outside hitter was named the District 1-AA Player of the Year, tournament MVP and the Region 1-AA tournament MVP.
“I just want to thank God for giving me all these opportunities,” Jayne said. “I want to thank my teammates, too, for being supportive and making the last four years fun.”
“Abbey has been a great leader for the team, especially this year,” South coach Wendy Ratliff said. “She’s a quiet leader and lets her play do a lot of the talking.
“One of my favorite moments was in the district tournament when she just let everything loose and played the best game she has in her four years here.”
