The Kingsport Farmers Market's Fall Festival took place at the market on Saturday, bringing extra touches of seasonal flair - such as a pumpkin carving demonstration, a pumpkin carving contest, largest pumpkin contest, face painting and craft activities for children, and an apple butter stir by the Sunrise Rotary of Kingsport. The pumpkin carving demonstration was put on by Bortz Graphix Plus, while Perfectly Unhinged sponsored children's activities. Market vendor Michaela Saylor took home the blue ribbon for largest pumpkin. First place winner in the pumpkin carving contest was Adrienne Batera, for her Volkswagon Microbus design. Second place went to Mary Ellen Chess for a colorful mushroom design; and third place went to Bryan Leonard for a Jack O'Lantern with a Kit Kat candy bar in its mouth.
